This final Endurance Mission was the last chance to gain some sort of advantage. This is no day at the beach anymore, this is serious competition.
The winners of the next Endurance mission receive pieces of the Pyramid of Endurance and control of the Samadhi, causing problems for the opposing team in the upcoming Temple Mission. This was a very important day on the island for the final three teams. As it came down to the final few missions, each team needed some sort of advantage to give themselves an edge over the other teams. This last Endurance Mission was their last chance to gain some sort of advantage, because the winning team gets to handicap any team with the Samadhi. This is no day at the beach anymore, this is serious competition.
The final three teams' puzzle-solving skills were tested in a very different kind of Endurance Mission. The game, which was called "Build a Pyramid," was based on the incredible task of building the Great Pyramids of Giza which took an estimated 100,000 men over 20 years to construct. In "Build a Pyramid" each team was given seven oddly shaped pieces that they had to fit into a pyramid shaped board. The first team to construct the pyramid using the pieces was the winner.
The Blue team won their second consecutive mission, and fifth overall. With the victory they took the lead with five Pyramid Pieces: Courage, Knowledge, Discipline, Commitment, and Luck. The Yellow team is in second place with four pieces, and Red is in third place with only one. One team must possess all 10 pieces to become Endurance Champion.
The Blue team also was rewarded the task of giving out the Samadhi, and at the Rock they announced their decision: the Yellow team would be handicapped in the next Temple Mission. However, JD gave the Blue team the option to remove the Samadhi from play completely and maintain a level playing field, and Aaron quickly agreed to eliminate it. The Yellow team was obviously quite relieved.
The final three teams will enter the last Temple Mission with a level playing field; no Samadhi handicap.
