Don’t be fooled by the "Southern belle" exterior. Amelia is a strong competitor who plays many sports, including tennis and basketball. In fact, she could probably even form her own sports team with her five sisters and one brother! She’s also a varsity cheerleader and rides her four-wheeler on the dirt trails of Georgia.

Amelia Land (born March 30, 1990) is a former contestant on Endurance: Tehachapi. She competed alongside her partner, Shea Thomas as the Blue Team.

Endurance[]

At fifteen years old, Amelia was one of twenty new contestants selected to be a part of the fourth season of Endurance.

On the first day of competition, Amelia immediately befriended Julie and Brooke, and became a clique of girls beyond the other contestants. While nervous before the challenge, Amelia was one of the 14 contestants that made it through the right to stay. Before the partner selection, she informed that she wanted Shea as a partner. As a result of them speaking up, they became the Blue Team before the challenge started.

In Blocked, she and Shea did average. Blue wasn't given the samadhi but their alliance with Gray caused them to become a target. In Tide Pull, the other teams gave Blue and Gray several sandbags which costed both teams the challenge due to the amount of time needed to fill their boats with Blue being the last time to start sailing to their flag. Before they could even come close to reaching it, Purple made a surprise win. Claiming they wanted to send strong teams, they sent Blue along with Gray to temple. Amelia stated she didn't think Blue would be amongst the first teams to be sent to temple and felt the others were poker faced in that they didn't seem opposed to them until they revealed they were. At temple, after three rounds, Blue managed to win and thus remained in the game. Amelia hugged Julie before Gray left.

The next morning, Gray's letter noted that their piece would be going to Blue, tying them for first with Green. Amelia expressed concern though about the other teams, feeling that Blue would likely get sent again the next day and that the teams would target them since they got rid of Gray. In Drop Out, where the winner would get to divide 6 teams in twp superteams, she outlasted a few people (including both members of Orange) but fell after 4 minutes. Shea was the next person to fall, eliminating Blue from the mission. Erika was the last one standing, winning the mission for Red. At the rock, JD inquired why the other teams were targeting Blue even though they didn't win a mission and their second piece was inherited, not won. Jeszie claims it was because they had a strong alliance with Gray and that they might retaliate against the people who broke it up and put Blue at risk of elimination (mainly Green and Yellow). Shea claims the guys on those team have his back but Jeszie seems to disagree. Blue was not selected on Red's superteam as they claimed Green and Yellow were stronger. This left Blue, Orange and Purple to be partnered as the perceived underdog superteam. Amelia felt her superteam had potential but still felt that the other superteam was stronger. In Super Stumped, the superteams were initially close in placement. However, the Red-Green-Yellow superteam accidently put one of their planks on top of another, preventing them from continuing until their team jumped off. This mistake allowed Blue, Purple and Orange to get gain a huge lead and they completed the mission well ahead of the alleged powerhouse superteam. The winning superteam seems to agree on sending Red but have some difficulty in choosing if either Yellow or Green will join them. They end up deciding on sending Yellow, who ends up getting eliminated.

Portrayal & Relationships[]

Amelia was close with everyone, but especially with Isaac of the Green Team. However, it was jeopardized in the final four, where it came time for Green to give the Samadhi out to one of the three teams remaining. While Jeszie wanted to save Red and Isaac wanted to save Purple, the logical initiative was to give it to Blue. However, it escalated to a huge conflict. Before the Samadhi was given, Amelia told the group that she would want the Samadhi to end the conflict.

Quotes[]

  • "It would just be better to give us the Samadhi, just like give it to us. It's not worth making all this conflict than just give it to us."

Post Endurance[]

Amelia attended the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, Los Angeles. She has since worked as a costume designer, buyer, and stylist for advertisements and media.

Trivia[]

  • Shea and Amelia are the only team in Endurance History to be a team without being chosen in a team selection.
  • Amelia and Isaac's relationship is one of the most high-profile Endurance relationships.
